Mrs. Fant, 79, Laid to Rest
Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Dillard Fant, 79, of Woodland, who died Monday at 9:30 at the Houston Hospital, were conducted from the Woodland Methodist Church at 2:30 pm, Tuesday with the Rev. Billy McCord and the Rev. Joe Jolly officiating.
Interment was in the Woodland Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Fant had been ill about two weeks.
She was born Jan 30 1882, the daughter of the late Jessie Beckham and Susan Smith Beckham. She was a member of the Woodland Methodist Church, and had resided in Chickasaw County all of her life.
She leaves three sons, A E Fant, Jr., of Houston, W B Fant of Meridian, and Q M Fant of Louisville, Miss; four daughters, Mrs. John Tuite of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. Jesse L Freeman of Smithville, Miss, Mrs. Neville Vines of Woodland and Mrs. E G Davis of Louisville, Miss. Fifteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive.
