Jefferson City Post-Tribune, January 8, 1979:

Everett Henry Markway Sr., 59, Route 7, died today at St. Mary's Health Center following a long illness. He was born in 1920, at Neodeshe, Kan., the son of Frank and Frances Kolb Markway. On Dec. 2, 1944, he was married to Lillian Schnieders, who survives.

Mr. Markway was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and VFW Post No. 1003, he worked for 32 years as a clerk for the United States Post Office, and retired in 1972.

Other survivors include: Three sons, Everett Markway Jr., 1920 Windriver Dr., Ronald Markway, Urbandale, Iowa and Eric Markway of the home; three brothers, U.A. "Pete" Markway, Route 2, Francis Markway, 207 City View Dr., and Donald Markway, 402 E. Miller St.; three sisters, Mrs. Carmelita Green, Taos, Mrs. Albertine Coffelt, 1322 Biscayne, and Mrs. Marjorie Frank, 1519 Mimosa Lane; and five grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dulle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Richard Cronin officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
