She married Francis DeLong of New York in 1820, and over the couse of their marriage they had nine known children. They moved their family to Pennsylvania c. 1838 along with Sarah's mother and father all settling around the Sandy Lake area of Northwestern Pennsylvania. (No known reason for the move) Francis was a carpenter by trade, and they lived their remaining married lives in Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

Sarah's grandfather was Asa Doty, (Revolutionary War Patriot) Her Doty/Doten family also dates back to the Mayflower crossing.
