Oscar "Buzz" Higgins Jr., age 74, of Franklin, OH; went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 31, 2009 at the Atrium Medical Center. Buzz was born in Middletown, OH on November 21, 1934 to Oscar B. Higgins Sr and Ethel (Bowers) Higgins and was raised in Jacksonburg, OH. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 1950's and was an upcoming boxer in his teenage years winning the Golden Gloves Award. Buzz retired from Armco Steel and was a member of Victory Tabernacle in Franklin. Preceding him in death was a son Jim Higgins in 2007, his sisters Marian Ingram and Margie Nickell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years June (Lawson) Higgins; a daughter Rebecca Augspurger and husband Jim, a son Timothy Higgins and wife Annetta, son Daniel Higgins and wife Sheila; grandchildren Jeff, Bradley, Emma, Brandon, Justin, Travis, and Michael; great grandchildren Kiley, Haylee, Faith, and Angel. Funeral services are Tuesday February 3, 2009 at 2pm at Victory Tabernacle with Rev Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday Feb. 3, 2009 from 12pm until the time of the service.
