Marjorie Evelyn Nickell, 71, of Middletown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Willow Knoll Nursing Home. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on Oct. 25, 1928, and was a lifelong resident of the Middletown area. Mrs. Nickell was employed as a technician at Middletown Regional Hospital for 10 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of New Beginnings Church in Springboro and a volunteer with the Madison Township Rescue Squad. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ethel (Bower) Higgins; and a sister, Marion Ingram. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Benny B. Nickell Sr.; four daughters, Vickie (Joseph) Wright of Middletown, Cindy Nickell of Carlisle, Denise (Richard) Lykins of Middletown and Juquita (Brian) Cornett of Franklin; a son, Benny Nickell Jr. of Trenton; five grandchildren, Chris Fitzpatrick, Jason Evans, Justin Nicholson, Erika Newton and Heather Cornett; two great-grandchildren, Raven and Tristen Newton; a brother, Oscar (June) Higgins Jr. of Carlisle; and a sister, Donna Riggs of Trenton.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Cornett officiating. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Elk Creek Cemetery.
