"Catherine Maasen, nee Schroeder, was born near Linn on May 28, 1874,(Mar on death certificate) the daughter of Bernard and Ann Libbert ( s/b Luebbert) Schroeder and departed this life Thursday evening at the home of her daughter in Jefferson City after an illness of several months.
She was united in marriage to Peter Maasen at Linn and to this union were born one son - Herman of Plattsmouth, Neb., and five daughters - Mrs. John Slicker, Mrs. John Paden, Mrs. Paul Markway of Jefferson City, Mrs. Rudolph Paschel of Linn, and Mrs. Wm. Ruettgers of Loose Creek, all of whom survive her. He husband, Peter Maasen preceded her in death about 18 months ago. She is also survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers - Henry, Ben and John Schroeder, Mrs. Ira Branson of Linn, Mrs. Rose Schroeder of Kansas, Mrs. Joe Gelvin of St. Louis. There are 11 grandchildren.
