Eldon A. Davenport, 80, 1901 East 23rd, died May 20, 1991, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1911, at Medford, Okla., the son of Emery Otis and Martha Leota Barton Davenport. He graduated from Oklahoma University. A long time resident of the Hutchinson and Inman areas, he was a retired petroleum engineer for Shell Oil Co.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman, the Masonic Lodge, Albedoo Shrine Club, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Elks Lodge, all at Billings, Mont., Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Association, North Dakota Oil and Gas Association, was past state chairman for Montana Petroleum Association and was past chairman of the Montana Republican Party Committee for Richard Nixon. He was also instrumental in developing the Midway Golf Course, Inman.

On April 27, 1934, he married Velma I. Kreig at Inman. She died in August 1987.

Survivors include: a son, John B., North Pine Springs, Mont.; and two granddaughters.

Memorials services will be announced later by Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Because of a funeral home's error, the location of the son in the obituary for Eldon A. Davenport, which appeared in Wednesday's edition of The News, was incorrect. He is survived by a son, John B., Pine Springs, Minn.
