Troy Clark Davenport, former Ponca Citian died Tuesday at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 82.

Born July 22, 1901 in Eddy, Okla., he was the son of Emery and Leota Davenport. He and Laura Mae Stewart were married June 16, 1929 in Ponca City.

Davenport was employed by the Ponca City Board of Education and later operated a clock repair shop out of his home. He and Mrs. Davenport moved to Oklahoma City in 1977 due to his ill health.

Surviving are his wife of the home, 1419 Northwest 24th Street, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Wilma Ford of Oklahoma City and Carolyn McKain of Dayton, Texas; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Velma E. Humphrey of Oklahoma City, and a brother, Eldon A. Davenport, Sun City, Ariz.

Funeral service was held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Smith & Kernke Chapel in Oklahoma City with burial in Oklahoma City's Memorial Park.
