Chambers County Boys At Auburn.
One hundred and forty-seven degrees were awarded at the concluding commencement exercises at Langdon Hall, Auburn, last Monday morning. Lawrence Marvin McRae, of LaFayette received the degree of Bachelor of Science; James Roy Hines, of Standing Rock, Agriculture, graduated with highest honors. Among those students who won highest distinction in scholarship during the past session are JAMES ARNOLD HARMON, of Chambers, and Robert Homer Orr, of Chambers.

James Arnold Harmon, 83, of LaFayette, died at Chambers County Hospital Tuesday, January 9, at 2:10 p.m.
Mr. Harmon was born in Alabama December 1, 1895, and was an Army veteran of WWI. Mr. Harmon taught school in Lee, Talladega and Coosa Counties, retiring 18 years ago. He was a member of LaFayette First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Abney, LaFayette, Mrs. Jewell Foster, Fairfax, Mrs. Thelma Childers, LaFayette, Mrs. Virginia Spring, Davis, CA; two brothers, W. G. Harmon and Roy Harmon, LaFayette.
Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Christian Church on Wednesday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Worley officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Johnson & Sanders in charge.
Pallbearers were James Abney, Rodney Harmon, Ken Harmon, Conrad Harmon, Riser Harmon and Fred Harmon.
