Ike McCormick, age 78, of Route 327, Byer died Friday evening at Naples, Florida.
He was a retired farmer and a former police officer and dispatcher in Jackson and a former school bus driver.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Charles and Blanche Bond McCormick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Belva Yerian McCormick.
Survivors include three sons, James of Indiana, Talmar of Wellston and Charles of Florida; and eight daughters, Stella Salyers, Blanche Wells, Peggy Mercer and Ruth Leach, all of Jackson, Virginia Bittner of Florida, Anise Stewart of Indiana, Darlene Barbee of Piketon and Arlene Music of Chillicothe.
Four brothers, Tom, Ted and Melvin of Jackson and Steve of Columbus; two sisters, Dora Bond of Jackson and Harriette Exline of Wellston; 43 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call at the Mayhew Funeral Home until 9 p.m. tonight (Monday). Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Route 327 Holiness Church with Rev. Raymond Patterson and Rev. James McFadden officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
