Mr. Housand was born in Horry County, a son of the late Samuel Buck and Eliza Barnhill Housand. He was a retired Freewill Baptist Minister. Mr. Housand was a retired farmer and carpenter and was predeceased by one son, Claude Billy Housand and a son-in-law Tony L. Norris.
Surviving are one son Ralph Claude Housand and his wife Toni of Longs; four daughters, Brenda Norris of Surfside Beach, Carol Todd and her husband Donnie of Longs, Barbara McDowell and her husband Billy of Conway and Doris Pearson and her husband James of Darlington; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Drew Hardee and Rev. Russell Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Grainger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
