Mrs. Blessing was born near Stuttgart, German, on May 28, 1828. She was a daughter of George and Dorothy Romel, who came to this country with their children in 1848 and settled near Buffalo, N.Y., where, in the same year, she was married to George Blessing. With her husband and one son, George Blessing, Jr., she came to Michigan City, the Romel family coming at the same time, and soon afterwards she moved to the place where she died. Her husband's death occured Dec. 5, 1883. Mrs. Blessing leaves five children, Mrs. Henry Jadzinski, Michigan City; George Blessing, Beatty's Corners; John Blessing, Roxbury, Kans., and Henry Blessing, Beatty's Corners. She was a sister of the late Michael and George Romel of this city, and of Mrs. Mary Krouke, deceased, of South Bend.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from St. John's Church. Rev Paul Irion will officiate.
