ELIZABETH CITY - Cynthia O'Neal Williams, 73, of North Road Street, died Wednesday, May 14 at Albemarle Hospital.

She was a native of Dare County, a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church, the William Clarence Jackson Post #6060 VFW Auxiliary and the Elizabeth City Rebecca Lodge #62.

She was the daughter of the late Frederick Berrit Gaskins and Beulah Anna Midgett O'Neal and the widow of Oscar Leon Williams.

Survivors include two daughters: Marsha Lynn Williams of Elizabeth City and Gerry Williams Couch of Buxton; two sons: Gene Charles Williams of Frankfort, Germany and Frederic Jon Williams of Rodanthe; four sisters: Helen Midgett of Elizabeth City, Zenovah Hooper of Salvo, Lovie Midgett and Olive Patrick, both of Rodanthe; one brother, Avril O'Neal of Rodanthe; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Danny, Noel, David, Laura and Stephen Williams, Seldon and Jessica Sawyer, Jennifer Couch and Amy and Susan Scarlino; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was to be conducted Saturday, May 17 in Blackwell Memorial Bapist Church with the Rev. Robert Crisp officiating and burial to follow in the family cemetery at Rodanthe at 3 p.m. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements.
