Alfred Fry was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, April 1, 1867 and went to his reward Friday morning, March 18, 1911. He was united in marriage to Ida McCoy Oct 13, 1889 and to this union were born four children: Grace, Glenn, Alma, and Clell. Mr. Fry was converted under the ministry of E.J. Shook and united with the Exline M.E. Church June 30, 1895, and at the time of his death was an official member of the church.
The decease was a princely man, a man among men. The one great aim of his life was to so live that his life would be an honor and a living testimony for his Savious, who had so wonderously saved him and as a consequence, he had an influence in the church and community that but few have.
He loved his home, he loved his Christ and church. He loved his neighbors and we all loved him. Oh, my friend and brother, how we will miss you and get along without you. He that is the friend of publican and sinners alone knows. We have lost but you have gained fo ryours was "faith of the father's holy faith," andin the hour of your intense suffering you siad, "Thy will be done, oh God, and loved speaker to my soul dear Jesus."
