Old Fort - Kenneth Fore, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at his residence.
Born on Nov. 19, 1920, in Madison County, he was a son of the late Jessie and Elizabeth Ogle Fore. He was a member of Cherry Springs Baptist Church and he retired from the Juvenile Evaluation Center. He formerly worked for many years at the WNC Hospital in Black Mountain. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
Surviving Mr. Fore are his wife, Madge Walker Fore of the home; two children, Melinda Marrical of Taylor, Mich. and Keith Fore of Ecorse, Mich.; foster child, Thomas Boyd and his friend, Star, of Old Fort; three brothers, Frank Fore of Black Mountain, Hubert Fore of Swannanoa and James Fore of Asheville; two sisters, Ethel Hollifield and Juanita Massey, both of Black Mountain; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five foster grandchildren and numerous nephews and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Fore will be held at noon Friday at Cherry Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. J. C. Wilson and Wendell Runnion officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Cherry Springs Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of McDowell County, 218 Logan St., Marion, NC 28752 or American Lung Association of NC, P.O. Box 27985, Raleigh, NC 27611.
