Andrew C. Christensen, 520 E. Hampden Ave., died on his way to the hospital Friday after suffering a heart attack while in a grocery store. He was 73 years old. Mr. Christensen was born Jan. 14, 1896 in Iowa
On Oct. 4, 1924 he married Francis Garmatz in Ivanhoe. They farmed in Star Lake Township until 1959 and then moved into Fergus Falls. He was a veteran of World War 1 and a member of WWI Barracks.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Mayotte, Canoga Park, Calif.; Mrs. Vernelle Haatvedt, Canoga Park, Calif., Mrs. Ray Alexander, Los Angeles, Mrs. Kenneth Demuro, Canoga Park, Calif., and Mrs. Selma Watkins, Golden Valley; one son, Marlin Christensen, Woodland Hills, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martha Hansen, Denmark; three brothers, Albert Christensen, Lake Benton, Charles Christensen, Illinois, and Einar Christensen, Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by two sons, Harlan and Floyd.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Glende-Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. Enos Windsor officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery in Pelican Rapids.
Farmed in Star Lake Township until 1959, then reited to Fergus Falls.
Veteran of WW1 Wounded in sholder in war. disabled some for working after that.
