Phebe Elisabeth Nading was the fourth of six known children of Johannes (went by John) Nading (1787-1870) and Hannah Burk (1789-1871), who married c1808 in presumably North Carolina, though a marriage record can't be located for them.

Phebe married to Thomas Jacob Boner (1803-1876) on 22 June 1840 at Stokes (now Forsyth) county, North Carolina. Phebe and Thomas were the parents of four known children, namely:

1. Eugene Alexander Boner (1841-1885)
2. Isaac Franklin Boner (1843-1843)
3. John Henry Boner (1845-1903)
4. Mary Francisca Boner (1854-1857)

None of the four children had any children.

In 1850 the parents (no occupation listed for Thomas), Eugene and John were living at Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. Two women were living with them, Julia Vest (hard to read, age 15) and Mary Garboden (age 22), who were they? In 1860 the parents (no occupation listed for Thomas) and son John were living at Salem District, Forsyth County, North Carolina with two women, Julia Vest (age 25) and Hulda Jenkins (age 17), who were they? The family lived on Salt Street in Old Salem. In 1870 the parents, a boarder (Israel G. Lash, age 59, worth $3,000,000 in property, President of National Bank) and a servant were living at Winston Township, Page 452, Forsyth County, North Carolina. Why was a Bank President living with a hatter? Or was it the other way around? In 1880 the widow Phoebe, three black laborers, and a servant, Emmeline Spaugh (age 45) were living on Salt Street, Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina.
