ADOLPH HOFSTAD, 88 of Oklee, MN died on Saturday, September 05, 1998 at his home in Oklee, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 1998 at 10:30 AM in Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Oak Creek Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral home in Oklee, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Adolph was born April 19, 1910 son of Rolf and Anne (Nygaard) Hofstad in Equality Township, Red Lake County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clearwater Lutheran Church. Adolph worked and farmed in Montana and North Dakota and on the family farm in 1930. He married Mavis Anderson (Fore) on January 17, 1939 at the Nels Fore home near Oklee. They went to Montana in the spring of 1939 and came back in the fall and lived on the farm, which he purchased in 1942. In 1951 he moved to Cudahy, WI and worked at Ladish Manufacturing in Processing until his retirement in 1972. He then moved back to Oklee where he has since lived. Mavis passed away May 30, 1967. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in So. Milwaukee and Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee.
Adolph is survived by one daughter Shirley Simpson (Bob) of Cudahy, WI: two sons Gene of South Milwaukee, WI and Keith of Wisconsin Rapids, WI: 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter. Sister Ragna Gunderson of Oklee: numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Martin, Grunde, Grandy, Iven and Paul: sisters Anne and Myrtle.
The family suggests memorials to the Cancer Society or Hospice.
