Funeral services were held Friday, June 2, for Mrs. Adolph (Mavis) Hofstad in South Milwaukee, Wis., who died at her home in Cudahy, Wis., on May 30 from a heart attack. She was 45.
The rites were conducted from the Trinity Lutheran Church in So. Milwaukee, where they were members, with Rev. R. J. Vordale officiating. Interment was in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in So. Milwaukee. Pall bearers were Archie Ruffalo, Torkel Gunderson, Tom Juneau, Robert Clayton, Duane Torkelson and Earl Curler.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Robert Simpson), a son, Keith of Cudhy, Wis., and a son Gene of So. Milwaukee, Wis.; three grandchildren, Roney, Robin and Ralph Simpson, one son-in-law Robert Simpson, one daughter-in-law Carol Hofstad; four sisters, Hazel Moy, Lilly Torkelson and Etta Flateland of Trail, Minn., and Helen Clayton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Leo Anderson of Trail, Earl Anderson of Brady, Mont., and Art Anderson of Springfield, Ore.; foster brothers, Alvin Fore of Oklee and Maurice Lillo of Springfield, Minn.; four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and other relatives and friends.
She was the daughter of Alfred and Esther Anderson and was born in Trail, Minn., on April 29, 1922 and at the age of three she went to live with her foster parents, Nels and Ida Fore of Oklee. She was baptized at Trail and confirmed at Oklee into the Lutheran faith.
She was married to Adolph Hofstad on January 17, 1939. The operated a farm in Equality township until 1951 when they moved to Cudahy, Wis
