Mrs. Nannie O. McMullen of 200 East Twelfth Street, Altoona, passed away Monday,
May 17, 1954, at 11:20 p.m. EST at her home after an extended illness.
The decease was born July 12, 1882, in Spruce Creek, a daughter of Milroy and
Alice (Hampton) Maffett. She was united in marriage to George W. McMullen, who
preceded her in death.
Mrs. McMullen was of the Methodist faith and was a former resident of Spruce
Creek.
These children survive: Mrs. Merle Brindle of Escanaba, Michigan, Carl McMullen
of Altoona, Bernard McMullen, Mrs. Maxine Hand, and Mrs. Ruby Kooken, all of
Tyrone, Francis McMullen of Huntingdon, Mary and Ruth McMullen, at home, and
Eugene McMullen of Barree. Three children preceded her in death. She is also
survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. McMullen was
the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 20, at 2:30 p.m. DST [sic EST] at
her late home. The Rev. John T. T. Cummins, pastor of the Tyrone Methodist
Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Franklinville Cemetery.
Friends may call at her late home until the hour of services. Spyker funeral
