Agnes Biddix Carmney

January 31, 1928 - January 3, 2009

Mrs. Agnes Biddix Carmney, age 80, of the Turkey Cove community, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on January 31, 1928 to the late Herbert M. Biddix, Sr. and Laura Lowery Biddix.

She was a member of Turkey Cove Baptist Church and was retired from Drexel Furniture Co. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she loved especially flowers and birds.

Her husband, Reece Carmney, a brother, Delmar Biddix, an infant sister, Bethany, and a great grandson, Reece Anthony Ward preceded her in death.

Deeply saddened by this loss are three children, Glenda C. Ward and her husband David of the home, Linda C. Queen and her husband Boyd of Newland, and Gene Daniel Carmney and his wife Carol of Marion; four brothers, Arnold, Fate and Junior Biddix, all of Marion, and James Biddix of Morganton; three sisters, Lula B. Burleson, Peggy B. Remington and Phyllis B. Dicks, all of Marion; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Buckner and her son Gary, and Eva Carmney along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Burial will be in the Turkey Cove Cemetery.
