Early settler and pioneer farmer in Martin County, Minnesota; he was the son of William Adams and Rhoda Ann [maiden name unknown]. He married Celestia Randall in Harmony township, New York on Jan. 28, 1844. Their children were Benjamin, George, David, William, and Mary Anne. When Benjamin was born in 1845, the family was living in New York. From there, they migrated to Pennsylvania, where George was born in 1847 and David in 1852. By 1857, the family had moved to Minnesota, where William was born in 1862, and Mary Anne in 1864.

ERASTUS ADAMS — Died on the 7th. Erastus Adams, aged 80 years. Mr. A. was born in the state of *New York, and has been a resident of this state for many years, coming to Martin county about 25 years ago. Gravesite Details

There are no headstones on graves in the large lot in the Sherburn cemetery, nor any record of interments. For a time there were no burials due to an epidemic and other temporary areas were used.
