Lynette G. Baker, 73, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday, October 27, 2008, peacefully at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 30, 2008, at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Jones and Rusty Tugman officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Don Brookins, Jack Cross, Floyd McGehee, Morris Jackson, Dr. Thomas Thurston and Gene Brown. Honorary bearers will be Robert Minter, Sean Cullins, Bill Vaughn, Austin Minter and Parker Vaughn. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

Lynette, an only child, was born May 6, 1935, in Farmersville, Texas, to Lee and Hazel Marie (Morrow) Griswold. She grew up in Farmersville and married her childhood sweetheart, Bobby Eugene Baker on August 2, 1953. The couple resided in Dallas, Texas for a short period after marrying and then in 1955, moved to Corsicana, Texas, where they later built a home. Later the family moved to Fort Stockton, Texas, before moving to Norman in 1973. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Thurston's medical office for close to thirty years, retiring just two months ago. Lynette was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family. She was a lifelong member of Alameda Church of Christ.

Lynette was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Bobby, in 2006.

Survivors include her three children, Vicki Baker Minter and husband, Robert, of Coppell, TX, Amy Baker Vaughn and husband, Bill, of Norman, and Elizabeth Baker Cullins and husband, Sean, of Washington, OK, three grandchildren, Austin Baker Minter, 15 years old, Parker Thomas Baker Vaughn, 4 years old, Abigail Marie Baker Cullins, 8 years old; two nephews, Kerry Glass and DavidLogan; niece, Lisa Logan; and two cousins, Joann Caldwell of Garland, TX and June Green of Dallas, TX.
