She was born in Johnstown Township in Barry County on March 1, 1899. She was a housewife. Her husband, Herbert C. Green, died in 1978 after 62 years of marriage.
Hazel was a Life Member of the Bedford Chapter 471 Order of the Green Eastern Star and she enjoyed fishing, traveling and making bread.
Surviving are four daughters, Gertrude(Stanley)Green, Martha(Burton)Clark, Marguerite(William)Lewis and Gladys(Wesley)Clark, all of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; 14-great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Colles of St. Petersburg, Fla.
The funeral service was held at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home at 10 a.m. August 23, 1993 with the Rev. Jim B. Luttrell of North Avenue Church of God officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jimmy, William and Larry Clark and Gary and Gilbert Green and great-grandson Michael Green. Burial is at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Mercy Pavilion Guild.
