Ivory G. Watson of Shawnee, died Saturday in a local nursing home. He was 71. He was born August 1, 1928 in Shawnee, the son of Bert and Ella Watson.

He attended schools at Center Point and Bethel. He married Viola Holcombe on August 1, 1948 in Tecumseh.

Mr. Watson was a member of Laborers International Union and attended Twin Lakes Nazarene Church. He lived in Shawnee for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Ella Watson, three brothers, Raymond, Wayne and Frank Watson and four sisters, Dovie Johnson, Ruth Williams, Oma Arms and Gertie Brunkest.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Watson, of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Della and Floyd Styers Jr. of Shawnee and Dawna and Charlie Hamm Jr. of Shawnee, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold and Dean Watson of Tecumseh and Jack Watson of Wetumka, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Addie and Doyle Smith of Shawnee and Kozelhua and Hebern Young of Tecumseh, three granddaughters and their spouses, Heather and Preston Skinner of Okinawa, Japan, Amber and Shaun Whiteside of Okinawa, Japan and Fransis Gene Styers of Shawnee and a grandson, Chad Hamm of Shawnee.

Memorials may be made to the hospice of choice.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee with the Rev. Harold Blankenship and the Rev. John Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
