Tilford Spicer Dies At Residence

Tilford Spicer, a life resident of Johnson county, died at his home in Union township early Friday morning. He had been in ill health for 12 years.
Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and will be in the Vandivier Funeral Home, 951 North Main Street, with the Rev. Rollin Hill, pastor of the Providence Christian church in charge of the services. Burial will take place in the Harris cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and night, and on Monday until time for the services, to which they are invited.

Mr. Spicer was the son of the late Richard and Sara Buckner Spicer, and was born in Hensley township on Aug. 4, 1889. He attended the Hensley township schools.
On March 3, 1910, at Franklin, Mr. Spicer and Nellie Baker were married. They were the parents of two children.
Mr. Spicer had spent his entire life in this county and for the last 40 years had resided in Union township.
He was a farmer in his early years and then became associated with the Socony Oil Company for 30 years and was bulk plant manager before his retirement.
The widow survives with two sons, Noble Spicer, of Bargersville; Gentry Spicer of Denver, Colo; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Spicer was a member of the Providence Christian church, and for 45 years a member of the Union Village Lodge, F.&A.M., of which he was a past master.
