In "The History of Schley County, Georgia", compiled and sponsored by the Schley County Preservation Soc.,c.1984 W.H.Wolfe & Associate, Roswell,GA pages 246-250 is a good genealogy of the Halstead family. It says "Seaborn Konce Halstead (1l-29-1824 to 3-18-1901) was born in Jackson Co. GA, the son of Daniel Neil Halstead and Harriet Tyler Halstead. His father, Daniel Neil Halstead was born March 16, 1789 in Jones Co, GA and married Harriet Tyler on Oct. 4, 1819. She being born June 12, 1803 in Orangeburg District, S.C. Seaborn Konce Halstead had 10 siblings: David, Jonathan, William, John, Caleb, Martin, Eliza, Sara, Phebe and Jane.
Seaborn Konce and his wife, Martha Outlaw Halstead (married 1845 in Wilkinson Co, GA-daughter of Cynthia Hall and James Outlaw), came to Schley County from Alabama in late 1859 or 1860 and had 14 children. Mary Ann Elizabeth 2-23-1847 ALA, Ellen Penelope 10-08-1848 ALA, Martha Frances 12-04-1850 ALA, Cynthia Rebecca 3-12-1852 ALA, Artemissa Josephine 9-21-1854 ALA, Seaborn Franklin 2-14-1856 ALA, Simon Bentley 11-03-1857 ALA, James Daniel 3-17-1860 GA, Eliza Maria 4-30-1862 GA, Columbus Alexander 1-26-1866 GA, Olivia Jane 3-22-1868 GA, Henry Jefferson 10-18-1869 GA, Robert Lee 10-14-1871 GA, Mattie Leah 7-26-1875 GA
Seaborn Konce and Martha Outlaw Halstead settled in the Lowe Community of Schley Co., where he farmed and also served as a rural mail carrier on Route #21786. He served during the duration of the Confederate War and died at the age of 77.

S. K. Halstead has a CSA pension application in the GA Archives. He says he enlisted in July 1862 and served as a SGT. with Co. G of the 59th Infantry. He was paroled at Appomattox Courthouse, VA. See GA Pension Record # 187807-00997 and Confederate Graves Registry ID # 136767 for this cemetery also.
