Glydes Opal Cowley, 87, of Gibson City died March 14, 2005 at Heritage Manor, Gibson City. Graveside services were held at Monticello cemetery.

Mrs. Cowley was born January 2, 1918 in Armthwaite TN, d/o Walter Lee and Zella Elva Wright Brewster. She married Robert Morris in 1934 in Teft IN. He died. She later married Ervin Cowley on April 18, 1947 in Bement. He also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Morris and Keith Morris, both of Monticello; five daughters: Irene Ensign and Marla Kuder, both of Gibson City; Norma Burnett, Tolono; Becky Pirtle, Urbana; and Lynette Crowley, Springfield; a brother, Retus Brewster of Canada; two sisters: Velda Fitzgerald, Hebron IN; and Velma Grass, Valparaiso IN; 36 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother, two sisters, three grandsons and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cowley worked for Camp Creek Duck Farm in Monticello and Huey's Discount in Urbana. She was a member of Prairie Baptist Church, Gibson City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glydes Opal Cowley Memorial Fund c/o Mackey-Wright Funeral Home.
