...Lewis Anderson, 79, of Keosauqua, died about 7:30 a.m., Friday, April 6, in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, where he had been since March 24, because of a heart ailment.
...He was born June 7, 1876, on a farm near Keosauqua, the son of Levi and Margaret Wharton Anderson. He was married September 19, 1900, to Florence Knox of near Birmingham. They farmed in Van Buren County until retirement a few years ago. For five years he had lived at Keosauqua.
...Besides his wife he leaves four sons, L. J. Anderson of Indianola, Jean of Keosauqua, Robert of Birmingham and Carl Edwin Anderson of Redding, Calif., and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Seimon of Keosauqua, Mrs. Aaron Fellows of Douds and Mrs. Rex Steele of Redding, Calif. Also surviving are a brother, Roy Anderson of Fontana, Calif., and two sisters, Mr. M. E. Nash and Mrs. Lola Bonnette of Chicago. There are 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
...Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua. Rev. Robert Farr of Waukee was in charge. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cementery near Douds.
