MRS. VAN PAYNE

Louise Payne, wife of Van Payne, and youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lew Anderson, was born May 9, 1919, at her parent's home near Douds, and after spending her entire life in this community, passed away on June 11, 1940, at the Ottumwa hospital, age 21 years, 1 month and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her infant son, born June 2, 1940, and by one sister.

She is survived by her husband, parents, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Siemon of Keosauqua, Mrs. Aaron Fellows and Mildred Harter of Douds; five brothers, Jerome of Des Moines, Jean of Birmingham, Carl, Clarence and Robert of Douds; her grandmother, Mrs. Paul Gire of Salem, Oregon, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 13, at the Pedrick Funeral home with Rev. E.E. Parrott in charge. Interment at the Zion Lutheran cemetery.
