Richard A. Wagner, 71, died suddenly Friday, February 22, 2002, in his home. Family graveside services will be held at Red Oak Cemetery, rural Tipton. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.

Richard was born March 29, 1930, in Coon Rapids, the son of Albert and Dorothy Herron Wagner. He married Carol Ripley on July 8, 1950, in Sac City. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he had been a truck driver for Hasenbank Feed Service in Clarence.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Deborah and husband Wendell Wanek of Stanwood and Lyn and husband Doug Johnson of Westgate; three sons Alvin and wife Dorothy of Clarence and Rick and wife Deborah and Greg and wife Sheri, all of Stanwood; three sisters, Leora Tenley of Mechanicsville, Norma Luckstead of Olin and Violet Brinkman of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Leland of Stanwood; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Sammi.
