COLUMBIA CITY, IN - Alice J. "Jo" Beaver, 80, a resident of Kokomo, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 1991, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in rural Columbia City. Born Nov. 3, 1918 in Lewisburg, Cass County, she was the daughter of Andrew J. and Audrey R. Heinmiller Ulerich. She was the wife of Lawrence E. Beaver, who survives. They were married June 23, 1948 and lived on Purdum Street.
As a young girl, her family moved to Kokomo where she graduated with the Class of 1938 from Kokomo High School. She was employed at General Electric and Delco Radio. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband; for sons and three daughters-in-law, Marion Eugene and Imogene Spradling II, New Waverly, Michael Andrew and Dianne Beaver, Columbia City, Lawrence Emil Beaver Jr., Kokomo, and Robert W. and Nora Beaver, LaGrange, two daughters, Patricia Lundberg, Galveston, and Sarah Jane Beaver, Columbia City; six grandchildren, Audrey Jeanie Willard, Phillip S. Spradling, Marion "Duke" Spradling III. Shane Robert Weaver, Sarah Evans, and Sean Lundberg, and six great-grandchildren, Merissa Spradling, Kyle Spradling, Johnny Spradling, Misty Spradling, Chris Evans and Robert Drake.
Preceding her in death were a son, John Spradling, a grandson, Michael Beaver II; a sister, Lenore Marie Ulerich; a three brothers, Reno Ulerich, Ernest Ulerich and Evertt Ulerich.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line, with Father Sextus Don as celebrant. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, 208 N. Maple Street, South Whitley.
Pallbearers will be Phil Spradling, Duke Spradling, Sean Lundberg, Shane Beaver, Lawrence E. Beaver Jr. and Robert Beaver.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Parkinson's Disease Research. Jo was born in 1918 in Lewisburg, Cass County, Indiana.
