James C Dixon
Dies This A.M.
James C. Dixon, Sr., a retired Sumter County, farmer, died this morning at his residence on Lamar St.
Mr. Dixon came to Georgia from Texas, when he was 21 years old. He lived in Schley Co. before, moving to Americus. He was a member of Salem Methodist Church for 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ella Snipes, of Americus, two sons, Chester and James Jr. of both of Americus. And, three daughters, Miss Nettie Dixon of Americus, Mrs. C. R. Smith of Atlanta and Mrs. Emogene Davis of Andersonville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon ad 3:00 o'clock from the I. B. Davis Chapel with the Rev. Monroe Yarbrough officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
