Served in Co. I, 5th Tennessee Cavalry. (1st Middle Tennessee Cavalry)
Enlisted at the age of 21 on Nov. 24, 1862.
Died in the General Hospital from chronic diarrhea.

Note: At enlistment this soldier shows a birth location of Jackson County, TN. Research of Census records shows a birth location in 1850, of North Carolina; 1860 a birth location, of Tennessee. Since both census records show the same members of the family, we assume that there is an error on one of them. Relationship links on this memorial are verified. 11-25-2022 jph
