Richmond Harrison Allen was the son of David Easter Allen and Martha "Patsy" Harris. Richmond Allen married Mary "Polly" Adams 13 Feb 1845 in Pulaski Co, KY. Polly died 13 Jul 1849. He remarried 29 Jan 1850 in Pulaski Co, KY to Martha "Patsy" Jane Wood.

Richmond Harrison Allen was the grandson of Samuel Allen and Nancy Easter. Samuel Allen (1756-1841) served in the Revolutionary War in Virginia and North Carolina. The family settled in Pulaski Co, KY about 1804.

Martha Elizabeth Allen married Monroe Popplewell

Mary Jane Allen married John Wesley Popplewell, David Allen married Georgia Anne McKinley, Elias Allen married Kate Henrietta "Hattie" Missemer.
