Ward Rites are Held Saturday
Final services for Thomas Jefferson Ward, 88-year-old Sulphur resident, were held Saturday, July 29, at the Bahner Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim House in charge of the rites.
Pallbearers were Marion Callis, Hollis Roland, Aaron Cottle, jr., Bill Grace, Wimpy Davis and George Manous. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery in Davis with the Bahner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ward was born February 14, 1873 in Red River County, Texas. He had lived in Murray county for 33 years, coming here from Polville in 1928. He had lived in Sulphur for 25 years. He died Thursday, July 27 at 5:15 p.m. at Arbuckle Memorial hospital after a one months illness. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist church.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lois Garrett, Bremerton, Washington; Mrs. Lucille Caldwell, of Sulphur; Miss Rosie Mae Ward, of Davis, Mrs. Pearl Hooper, of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Goldie Ramsey, of Davis; one son, Herman Ward, of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
