When Jessie was two years old she rolled off the bed and struck her head on the butt of a rifle. The injury was serious and was followed by a high fever, resulting in brain damage.  Jessie lived at home until her mother passed away in 1956.  She lived the remainder of her life in a nursing home.

Jessie Mae Lopeman, 75, died Monday, July 2, 1990, at Bethesda Nursing Center where she had resided the past nine years.

The daughter of Abe and Lotus Tomlinson Lopeman, she was born Oct. 21, 1914 in Chanute. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Annabella Miller, Russelville, Ark., and a neice, Nadine Tucker, Humboldt.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Park Cemetery, the Rev. Joe Wedan officiating.  Johnson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
