Mrs. Marie Dixon Shaw, age 87 of Grapeland, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett. Mrs. Shaw was born September 23, 1920 in Latexo to William and Alice Cannon Dixon. Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and worked for numerous businesses in Grapeland and Crockett. Mrs. Shaw was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland, and a member of the Dogwood Squares.
Survivors include her son James Ronnie Shaw, of Grapeland; daughter Madra Dawn Horne and husband Billy, of Grapeland; nine grandchildren Larry Shaw and wife Lenise, of Elkhart, Dina Shaw, of Addison, James Shaw, Gina Shaw, Shawn Shaw and wife Racheal, and Todd Shaw, all of Grapeland, Sandi Thornton and husband Glenn, of Groveton, Sherry Duhon and husband Heath, of Grapeland, and Shannon Payne and wife Ginger, of Kennard; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents William and Alice Cannon Dixon; husband of 50 years, Elzy Shaw in 1989; and a beloved son Larry Dean Shaw in 1975.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Marie Dixon Shaw were held Wednesday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Latexo Cemetery with Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating.
Pallbearers were Shannon Payne, Larry Shaw, James Shaw, Shawn Shaw, Todd Shaw and Tommy Byrd.
