Thursday, December 30, 1971 Mrs. Alice Dixson, 96, of Crockett, passed away in a local nursing home Thursday, Dec. 23. Mrs. Dixon had resided in Houston County most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Waller Chapel, with Revs. D. Mullins and E. D. Sarrantt officiating. Interment was in the Latexo Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Odell B. Dixson of New Caney; five daughters, Mrs. Maggie E. Roloff of Latexo, Mrs. Nella Darwood of Huntsville, Mrs. Mary Etta Patton of Crockett, Mrs. Georgia Sims of Pasadena and Mrs. Elzy Shaw of Grapeland; 43 grandchldren; a number of great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Gravesite Details

The land the Latexo Cemetery is on today was part of WT & Alice Dixson's farm which they donated for cemetery when they buried their own baby Era circa 1912.
