Archie Wayne Moore, 76, of Paris, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at his residence.

Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home has scheduled funeral services for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in Lakeway Baptist Church with the Rev. Cary Robertson officiating and the Rev. Larry Fincher assisting. Interment follows in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home.The family receives friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Archie was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Paris, the son of Willie Marion Moore and Elldee Jernigan.

He was employed by Champion Box for many years and later worked for Flexolite in Paris. He loved to work on lawn mowers, continuously tinkering with them. He would take parts from others and create new ones. He was a person who never met a stranger and was loved by all who met him. He loved to work with his hands and working with wood. He was a loving man, father and Papa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Freddie, on July 4, 1997; and a son, Steve Moore also in 1997.

Survivors include his daughter, Kelly (Steve) Black of Paris; four sons, Gary Wayne (Anna) Moore of Bogata, Archie Lynn (Cathy) Moore of Detroit, Ricky (Diane) Moore of Hot Springs, ARK, and Terry (Pam) Moore of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Ray (Greta) Moore of Sherman and Wendell (Onedia) Moore of Paris; sister, Dorothy Smith of Paris; grandchildren, Douglas Moore and Ronald Moore, both of Bogata, Clint Moore of Paris, Rachael Moore of Detroit, David Rowton of Paris, Joy Rowton of Detroit, Devin Moore of Hot Springs, ARK, Brandon Moore of Paris, Matt Moore of Hot Springs, ARK, Melissa Pierson of Hot Springs, Michael Pierson of Hot Springs, Greg Moore of Paris, Steven Moore of Paris, Terra Moore of Paris, Jacob Moore of Wichita Falls, Joshua Moore of Wichita Falls, Scerena Myers of Mount Pleasant, Vanessa Black of Paris, Krystal Smith of Paris, Shawn Myers of Mount Pleasant and Autumn Woods of Paris; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
