Wife of Dr. Rank Orion Dawson Sr.
Annabelle M. Dawson, 82, of Charleston passed away at the Hubbard Hospice House on Saturday, November 15, 2008.
She graduated from Clendenin High School and Charleston General Hospital School of Nursing.
She was employed as a registered nurse in New York City and at Charleston General Hospital.
Annabelle attended Christ Church United Methodist. She and her husband tended the church garden.
She was a member of the Republican Women's Club, the Women's Club of Charleston and the United Methodist Women's Circle.
She was always helping others in many different ways.
She loved to hunt and be outdoors.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rank O. Dawson Sr.; her parents, Lloyd and Elma Fisher; and siblings, Gladys and husband, Siebert Fisher, Ralph and wife, Beulah Ziegal, Frieda Frame, and Eustace, Eugene, Clark, Norma, Naomi and Denver Fisher.
She is survived by her children, Lillie and husband, Phil Lugen, of Sarasota, Fla., Anna Marie and husband, John Copenhaver III, of Charleston, Dr. Rank O. Dawson Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Cincinnati, Ohio, D. Boone Dawson and wife, Helen, of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Katie, Elizabeth and Caroline Copenhaver and Rank III, Nicole, D. Boone III and Samantha Dawson; and brother, Vernon Fisher of Minnesota.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Christ Church United Methodist with Dr. Randall Flanagan officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home.
