OLIVER E. PADGETT
PERRYTON, Texas - Oliver E. Padgett, 55, died March 13, 1982, as the result of a farm tractor accident near Fowler. Born April 29, 1927, at Emporia, he married Marie Hargett in June 1948. He was a farmer and longtime resident of Perryton, formerly of Fowler.

He was a member of VFW, Perryton; and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: widow, of the home; sons, Todd, Perryton; Marc, Canyon, Texas; Tim, Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Andrea Duncan, Amarillo, Texas; Priscilla Hall, Odessa, Texas; mother, Gladys Padgett, Fowler; brothers, Kenneth, Lyman, both of Fowler; sister, Evelyn Edwards, Meade; eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel, Meade; the Rev. Tracy Wilson. Burial at Fowler Cemetery, Fowler. Memorials to the donor's choice.

MAN KILLED IN FARM ACCIDENT
Oliver E. Padgett, 54, of Perryton, Texas, who owns a farm near Meade, was killed in a tractor accident at the farm.

Padgett was running his tractor in a field at the farm when he got off it and went back to work on a disc it was pulling, according to a spokesman in the Meade County sheriff's office.

While he was working on the disc, the tractor slipped into gear and pulled the disc over him, dragging him about 10 feet before it stopped.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
