Clara Belle Hillard was the daughter of Eliza Jane Jamison (1844-1897) and John McMillan Hillard (1842-1906). She was born in Farmington which was renamed Eau Claire in late 1866, as there was a postal problem with another town called Farmington in Pennsylvania.

She married William Dick 'Dickey' Rodgers (1853-1940) in 1884 in Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Clara Bell Rodgers, aged 51 years, wife of W. D. Rodgers of Fairview, died Sunday morning in the Butler County General Hospital. Death followed an operation for appendicitis she underwent about a week ago.
The body was taken to the home in Fairview yesterday by Roessing and son, Butler funeral directors, and the funeral will be held from the family home at a time to be announced later.
Mrs. Rodgers was a well known and respected resident of the Fairview district. She was a member of the Fairview United Presbyterian church and was active in the work of missionary and other societies of the church. She leaves her husband and the following children: C. L. Rodgers of Ellendale, Kansas; Kenneth H. of Karns City; W. Clyde of DePew, Oklahoma; Mrs. H. V. Bradley of Lockport, N. Y.; Bess, Ethel, Laurabell and Wilda at home.
