JOHN BASLER
John Basler, 60 Washington St., Chilton, died at Calumet Memorial Hospital Monday, February 24. He had been ill for two months.
Mr. Basler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Basler, was born at Mequion, Wisconsin on February 8, 1889. On October 6, 1908, he was married to Eva Dorn at St. Mary's Church, Chilton, and located on a farm in Chilton Town. He retired and moved to Chilton in 1918, where he became a member of the Holy Name and St. Joseph Society's of St. Mary's Church.
The couple had no children. Mrs. Basler passed away April 24, 1954. Survivors include; one brother, Frank Basler, Sherwood; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Dorn, New Holstein; Mrs. John C. Stewart, California; and Mrs. George Bruckner, Chilton.
Funeral was held at 9 a.m. February 27 from the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home. Services were at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
