ASHTABULA - Virginia P. Lasher-Johns, age 90, of Jefferson Road, Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Jefferson Healthcare in Jefferson, Ohio. She was born Jan. 29, 1922, in New Kensington, Pa., the daughter of Howard and Eva (Freshwater) Camp and had lived in the Ashtabula area for 43 years. She had worked at the Stow Away Restaurant in Carlisle's Department Store in Ashtabula until her retirement. She was a devoted and active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Ashtabula. She was a member of the 55 and much Alive Club; she enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving her are two sons, Gary A. (Peg) Lasher of Leechburg, Pa. and Jeffrey L. (Pam) Lasher of Ashtabula Township; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Lasher Niro of Jefferson; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond C. Camp of Beaver Falls, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert Paul Lasher in 1980; her second husband, Henry Johns in 2006; and by a son, Howard P. Lasher in 2006. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 2nd, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with Pastor Larry L. Emery, of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside Service will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, Pa. Calling Hour will be from 9 a.m. until time of Service, Friday, at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
