Gary A. Lasher, 74, of Leechburg, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. A son of the late Paul Lasher and Virginia (Camp) Lasher, he was born April 13, 1947. Gary was a veteran, having proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a mechanic while in the Army and continued his career with various car dealerships in the local area after his military service. Gary was a member of the Vandergrift VFW Post 566 for most of his life. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and watching old war films and western movies. Survivors include two sons, James Thompson (Penny), of Arbutus, Md., and Bill Thompson (Lana), of Leechburg; two daughters, Lynnette Piper, of Avonmore, and Kedrin Lasher (Amy), of East Vandergrift; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jeff Lasher (Pam), of Ashtabula, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Margaret Lasher; a son, Mike Thompson; a daughter, Peggy Baker; and a brother. There will be no public visitation or funeral ceremonies. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell with military rites conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to the CLAWSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Condolences to the Lasher family may be offered at www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
