Robert died on March 29, 1861 at the age of 54 is laid to rest with his wife of 30 years Catherine and his son William George who died in 1854 at the age of one year old. All are buried in Middlesex Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Middlesex Township, Butler County, Pa.
