BIO SKETCH by Direct Descendant, Rose H. Bonnell, 27 Sep 2023:

COUPLE: Brinkley Hows/House (1809-1876), son of John C. and Penelope (King) House/Hows, married
Anna Allen (1812-1886), daughter of George Sugg and Pharraba "Pharaby" (Russell) Allen.

INFO ON THE FATHER OF BRINKLEY HOWS/HOUSE IS RECORDED IN CLAYTON'S 1880 HISTORY OF TENNESSEE, in the biographical sketch of "William H. Lovell," husband of Brinkley's sister L. Ruhama House, [p. = 484-B, has nine unnumbered inserts between page 484 and 485, eight biographies and one blank page equating to A-H + blank, so ours equates to 484-B] "William H. Lovell resided with his parents until 1832, when on April 4, he married Miss L. Ruhama House, daughter of John C. House, Esq., who came to Davidson County in 1814 from near Raleigh, N.C. She was born Sept. 21, 1813." and [p. 90], a John House served as Justice in 1851. "1851: John House. Quorum: Joseph H. McEwen, Hawes Graves, Isaac Paul.
(REF: History of Tennessee, by W. W[oodford]. Clayton, 1880, page 90, and bio in unnumbered bio section, two pages after page 484, equating to numeric value of unnumbered 486; URL: https://www.google.com/books/edition/History_of_Davidson_County_Tennessee/8ipEAQAAMAAJ, image 467.).

INFO ON THE MOTHER OF BRINKLEY HOWS/HOUSE IS RECORDED IN THE FAMILY BIBLE OF HER DAUGHTER L. RUHAMA (HOUSE) LOVELL: ""Penelope Hows, wife of John C. Hows, and mother of Loruhama Lovell, departed this life the 12th May 1851."

BRINKLEY'S PARENTAGE IDENTITIES:
FATHER OF BRINKLEY: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/50046184/john-carroll-hows (1776 NC-1855 KY); MOTHER OF BRINKLEY: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/50045922/susan-penelope-hows (1771 NC-1851 KY). ALERT: I FOUND SOURCE OF THE ERROR FOR THE ERRONEOUSLY-ADDED SUSAN! MIX-UP OF DATA IN THE WILLIAM H. AND LORUHAMA (HOWS/HOUSE) LOVELL FAMILY BIBLE. CONFLATED WITH NAME OF GRANDDAUGHTER: THEREFORE "Susan/Susannah" AS A FIRST NAME FOR PENELOPE IS CONCLUSIVELY WRONG AND NEEDS TO BE REMOVED!!! HAVE SENT A SEPARATE EDIT REQUEST FOR THAT TODAY.

PROOF OF ERROR, DETAILED.
FYI: I finally found where the purported first name Susan/Susannah comes from, having disbelieved it, as it is NOT used in the Trigg Co KY cemetery transcription books, is NOT used in the Trigg Co KY cemetery transcription books, NOT that of Neel in 1961, NOR Maupin in 1980, NOR Sumner-Fortner-Metts-Morris, 2008 (REF: books owned by me and in my possession). NEITHER is it on the 1803 NC Marriage Bond, which simply identifies her by the nickname Penny; (REF: Ancestry.com 2015 Database, North Carolina, U.S., Marriage Records, 1741-2011, Wake County Marriage Bonds (1778-1869), between John C. House and Presley King for marriage of John C. House and Penny King, dated 7 Nov 1803; (URL: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/60548/images/42091_343365-02085, image 6055 of 12676.). It is also, NOT used in the Trigg Co KY Deeds, see Deed Bk J, page 303, 2 Apr 1849; (REF: Copy from Trigg Co KY Courthouse, in my ownership and possession). NOR is it used in the 1850 U.S. Federal Census of Trigg Co KY, District No. 2, page 349-B, dated 29 Aug 1850, dwelling & family # 323; (URL: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8054/images/4192509_00568, image 46 of 102). In all these she is simply identified by ONE given name, Penelope, (NOT Susan Penelope, NOR as S. Penelope), SOLELY identified as Penelope. With absence of any evidence otherwise, therefore, I believe Susan was NOT in her name!!!

FOUND CONCLUSIVE PROOF OF THE MIX-UP: According to the William H. Lovell and L. Ruhama House Family Bible record page photo, posted by Caitlin Clyne Lovell on 17 Jan 2018, original recorded data includes the following: "From the William H. Lovell Family Bible (owned by Joseph Charles Lovell Jr.)." RHB SUMMARY. OVERLOOKED ITEM: Info for Penelope Hows, wife of John C. Hows, is in the faded entry of "Penelope Hows" located in right column under Deaths, listed between deaths of William Washington Lovell, and that of her husband John C. Hows, unfortunately, was overlooked and mixed-up with the plainly identified lower entry of the ERRONEOUS CONFLATION: "Susannah Penelope Cox, daughter of W. H. Lovell and Loruhama Lovell, departed this life 28th March 1884." TRUE INFO, IN FADED INK: "Penelope Hows, wife of John C. Hows, and mother of Loruhama Lovell, departed this life the 12th May 1851." (REF: Photo of original viewed and transcribed now by me, RHB, 27 Sep 2023; URL: https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/collection/1030/tree/90080771/person/75007095679/media/67e3ac24-48ca-4d5f-9890-90ea75838836?_phsrc=bBX4753&usePUBJs=true&galleryindex=2&albums=pg&showGalleryAlbums=true&tab=0&pid=75007095679&sort=-created.)
THEREFORE, I AM SENDING A SEPARATE SUGGESTED EDIT REQUEST TO REMOVE SUSAN/SUSANNAH FROM PENELOPE'S NAME.

FAMILY OF BRINKLEY AND ANNA:
According to Family Data, verified by U.S. Federal Censuses of 1840 Davidson Co TN, and 1850 Trigg Co KY, their daughter, Elvira America House, was their only child.

Evidently Brinkley and Anna cared about family, and by the engraving on the mother's tombstone, their child cared deeply about them.
