MRS. BERTHA PHILLIPS DIES TODAY
Mrs. Bertha Phillips, 94, of 1010 East Webster Street, Benton, died today at the Codkrum Intermediate Care Home after an illness of two years.
Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Franklin county, and was a member of Long Prairie Christian Church.
She is survived by four children, Herchal Phillips, Tempe, Ariz., George Phillips, Mrs. Arlie (Ina) Bain and Mrs. William F. (Floreine) Rice, all of Benton; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, G.R. Phillips, died Jan. 30, 1969, while she was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Rebecca Hawkins Barnfield, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Delores) Hood.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton.
The Reverend C.J. Ketteman will officiate.
Interment will be in Phillips Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 5 p.m. Saturday.
