Mary A. Cooke
Mary A. Cooke, age 92, of Lockhart, died Saturday, September 14, 1991. She was born in Slate Springs, Mississippi, the daughter of William and Eliza Batchelor Moreland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse G. Cooke, who was a former minister at First Lockhart Baptist Church, a son, William Wayne Cooke, and a daughter, Gwynne Wilson.
Survivors include her son, John Paul Cooke of Nacogdoches, son-in-law Newton (Doc) Wilson of Lockhart, daughters Lavonia Swaffar of Lockhart, Jamies Jones and husband, Robert of Lockhart, and Lois Reich of Newllano, Louisiana, thirteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 17, at the First Lockhart Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
